Peter Beiersdorfer will be presenting on South Africa. It is based on three trips to South Africa since 2003 exploring the Johannesburg - Kruger, Durban, and Cape Town regions, including a trip to the southern most point of South Africa. The talk will highlight some of the sights anyone of us can see by being in the right place at the right time. Having been interested in succulents since childhood Peter was able to collect them in earnest after moving to the Bay Area. He started to propagate them from seed and cuttings during the past ten years, mainly to make sure that he has "spares" should one of my plants not make it. The result has been quite overwhelming to the point where he has become a regular vendor at the annual show and sales of the Cactus and Succulent Society of San Jose and for the first time this year at the show and sales of the San Francisco Succulent and Cactus Society. He is also this month’s featured grower and will bring in some of his rarer plants for sale, including some he has not offered before.
