It is time once again for our annual Winter Solstice potluck. This is your opportunity to make a special dish to share with all of the other club members. Whether it is an American classic or exotic concoction, it will be welcome. The club will provide turkey, and liquid refreshments, but the rest of the menu is up to the membership. Bring a dish large enough for 6-8 people, ready to serve. If it is vegetarian, attach a note to that effect. Also, if it is not vegetarian, but looks like it is, then you should also label the dish. We are starting a little earlier, 6:30 PM as we have a firm deadline of 10 PM to be out of the building.
Remember to wear your solstice hat (any creative headwear will do), and as always, you are welcome to bring a date to this event! And to make it even more romantic (and dangerous), bring a candle in a candle holder to light up your table.
If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, bring a succulent plant or garden-related item for the gift exchange table. Be sure to label it with your name, because when someone chooses your gift, they will approach you to choose the next item. This is a good opportunity to meet new people in the club.
There will also be gift plants bought by the club. Everyone who wants one will go home with a delightful plant, either a succulent or cactus. We will also need volunteers to set up and decorate (arrive at 5 PM and get a glass of champagne!) or clean up (stay 35-40 minutes after and finish all the champagne!). This is our party, so lets make it a great one!
Featured grower: All attendees will receive a free plant purchaced by the club. A very nice selection of cacti and succulents will be available.
Bring a dish for the potluck and bring a plant (or other garden item) for the gift exchange.
