At our April meeting, long-time club member Gary Ware will do a program on growing Echeverias. Gary now lives in Lake County, so we do not often see him at meetings, but when he lived in San Francisco his exquisitely-grown Echeverias and Dudleyas were a regular feature at our shows. Gary will talk about different aspects of the care and propagation of Echeverias, and he will answer questions related to these wonderful plants. If you have plants that are too leggy and you wonder what to do about it, bring them in to get advice from Gary. If you have plants which look diseased or are not growing well, he will try to diagnose the problem. Or if you have plants whose identity you do not know, he will be happy to try to name them. If time allows, Brian Kemble will show a selection of slides of Echeverias in habitat. Gary has written a calendar listing what he does at what time of year to maintain his plants, so see the article in this newsletter detailing this schedule.

Featured grower: Club member Alex Rigg will have plants for sale at the April meeting.
Show and Tell: Echeveria, Dudleya, Euphorbia, dwarf cacti, and as always, any plant in your collection that is particularly beautiful or interesting this time of year. |
